Collection de l'Art Brut

FamilyCulture

A quintessential museum in Lausanne's cultural landscape, the Collection de l'Art Brut captivates and fascinates with every visit. Housed in an elegant old manor house, the collection reveals a unique artistic universe, created outside the traditional circuits. Here, there is no academic training or aesthetic conventions: the works on display are the work of passionate self-taught artists, guided by a raw, intimate and often stirring creativity. It's a fascinating insight into the authenticity of human expression, and a must-see.

More info

Brasserie du Cygne has remained traditional without being old-fashioned. Guests have enjoyed coming here since 1902. The region’s typical dishes are timeless classics such as perch fillets, croûte au fromage, planchettes and - naturally - cheese fondue moitié-moitié. Don't miss their brasserie dishes, good meats and home-made cordon bleu.

This establishment has been awarded the “ Café historique de Lausanne ” label established by the city of Lausanne in 2021. An iconic brasserie from the Chauderon Quarter, located close to the Tour de l’Ale. The exterior architecture is characterised by large semicircular bay windows that were recently rehabilitated. The interior is large and bright, with original wood panelling and seats.
