La Grappe d’Or

Where?
Rue Cheneau-de-Bourg 3

A Lausanne institution housed in a historic building at the bottom of a pedestrian street. We suggest kicking off with a delicious cocktail at the bar before sitting down to a dish of antipasti or pasta with original flavours.
That little extra from the food insider "ChicandSwiss": the setting, with the beautiful fireplace.
Favourite dish: paccheri pasta with sausage

Lausanne Cathedral

HeritageArchitectureHistory

Lausanne's iconic cathedral has towered over the city for more than eight centuries. A masterpiece of Gothic art, it captivates visitors with the harmony of its architecture, the richness of its sculpted details and the serenity it inspires. From its tower, an exceptional panorama opens up over the roofs of the Cité, Lake Geneva and the Alps.

Due to the renovation of the vaults in the south transept, the rose and its stained glass windows will be inaccessible until spring 2027.

La Grappe d’Or offers flavorful cuisine, dedicated to products from the Franco-Italian Alpine arc, in a relaxed atmosphere with a touch of Italy, and has been awarded 14 points by Gault-Millau.

After flirting with gastronomic absolutes and wining and dining stars and crowned heads, La Grappe d’Or fell somewhat into oblivion. Its reopening with Chef Théotime Bioret, the former chef of the famous Le Cinq restaurant, was therefore eagerly awaited as the gastronomic event of the year. And gourmets are not disappointed! With its rather original transalpine cuisine “from Vintimille to Venice”, the menu card invites the guests to enjoy an eating experience as in Italy, with affordable antipasti and primi piatti. The meats of the secondi piatti are cooked to perfection thanks to a broiler that is visible from the dining room. On the beverage side, the talent of manager Laurent Bigler is reflected in the beautiful wine cellar and the vast selection of gins and tonics served at a large bar.
