Lausanne Cathedral

HeritageArchitectureHistory

Lausanne's iconic cathedral has towered over the city for more than eight centuries. A masterpiece of Gothic art, it captivates visitors with the harmony of its architecture, the richness of its sculpted details and the serenity it inspires. From its tower, an exceptional panorama opens up over the roofs of the Cité, Lake Geneva and the Alps.

Due to the renovation of the vaults in the south transept, the rose and its stained glass windows will be inaccessible until spring 2027.

Ratana the chic mamma
In the heart of Lausanne, not far from the Place de la Palud, is nestled Madeleine. No, it’s not where my aunt Madeleine lives, but a bookshop café. On one side is the bookshop and on the other the café. The place is timeless. I suggest taking a seat at a table to sip an iced coffee and savour a madeleine (of course!). You’ll be lulled by the surrounding peacefulness created by the pastel touches of the decoration and the soft lounge music in the background.

Madeleine is a unique place that invites to relaxation. Whether it’s to browse the book area, begin the day with a delicious coffee (to be enjoyed with scrumptious madeleines, of course!) or work in peaceful surroundings, Madeleine welcomes you for a delightful moment of escape.

Madeleine has thought of everything, as games are also available for children: everyone is sure to have a good time.
